A hot glass studio located in the sea breezes of Gabriola Island, BC
Our story goes back to 1996
About Us
Glass blowing: art made with passion, fire, heat, fluidity, love, and movement. Partners in both life and in the hot shop, Dirk Huysman and Mary Ann Richards have been bathing in the magic of glass blowing for 20+ years; it was a gift of a glass blowing class that turned into an ongoing dance of creation together, with no end in sight.
Our Work
Each of our unique pieces are filled with one-of-a-kind whimsy and created with the utmost care, attention, and creativity. Varying in colour, size, & style, we create functional and decorative pieces with the spirit that moves us. Our functional pieces range from beer mug, water glass, or wine goblet for your hand, to luxurious and classy vases for your flowers, incredibles lamps for your living spaces, and stunning centrepiece bowls for your tables. Our decorative work comes in all shapes and sizes: glass balls, spirit dancers, holiday pieces, and works inspired by imagination, place, fire, and light.

What we believe in is that people should have art that is in their daily lives. It should be touched and used every day. And that’s how we like to think of our glass.
Come and drop by! We'd love to meet you.

Our Studio &Gallery
Built in 2012 on beautiful Gabriola Island British Columbia, the studio features a viewing area and gallery where visitors can watch 1000 degree celsius glass turn into art, from above. And if it becomes a touch too hot, step out onto the small deck to enjoy the salty ocean air and view.
The viewing gallery is always open while glass is being blown. Please call ahead to to find blowing hours (they vary), and make sure to also come by on the annual Thanksgiving Studio Tour.
